Hunting has been fairly steady over the past few weeks. Strong numbers of both geese and ducks on the prairie.

We had these 5 Marine Officers out for a hunt last week and while the ducks somehow no showed us, we managed a few specks to make up for it and took them for some doves in the afternoon to fill out the bag a little. God bless our troops.

Nice pics. I dont know about you but I havent hardly seen any young snows this season on the prairie. Also, the specks have finally learned to shut their mouths, which is to be expected at this point in the season. Good luck to you on the remainder of the season.

While I had heard that some colonies had an average hatch I haven't seen it. Young snows this year are seemingly non-existent. Out of a 91 bird shoot a few weeks ago only two were gray birds.

Most specks that we have killed over the course of the season have been barred birds as well.

On the upside, duck hunting has been pretty good!
