we are going on our first snow goose hunt. we have about 8-9 hundred decoys and a caller from goosegetter. we were ganna go last weekend but snow on the ground in southern illinois. has anybody been killing anything in southern illinois. either way we will go as long as this ice doesn't turn into snow. 7 or 8 guys went in on used decoys and a caller. it should be interesting. we all are avid duck hunters and wanted something to do in the spring. we have places that tons of snows fly over so we figured we would give it a shot. just wondering about reports of how people are doing in the area....

I was just down there last weekend there was quite a few in the area that we were hunting. South of springfield about 30mi. There was no snow on the ground down there. Got permission and hunted staurday rained 1" sat night and field was to muddy to drive in on sun so we packed our decoys out and called it a trip. Going back in 3 weeks if there still there.

You guys better watch it. There is a "cyber scouting" troll I have been seeing around and he gets all pissy if you even give the county you are hunting in! He just biatched a guy out for asking if geese ever frequented the area where his lease was. (East coast guy)
IMNHO, you can tell each other where they are all day long. We are brothers helping brothers. We don't all live there and we don't get enough time off work to drive hundreds of miles burning $3 gas (or $3.75 fuel for me) to scout for two days to get one or two days of hunting.
End :hijacked: and rant...
