Hello everyone, i just joined today and had a question for you guys. I searched the forum before asking and found a thread from 2011but that didnt answer my question. So here we go my wife and i both drew out swan tags this year, we live in utah. This is our first swan hunt, it will be over open water near a field at a migratory bird refugee, the area i go to also has a ton of ducks. Can i through out duck decoys and my mallard mojo in the swan spread and also bag ducks while we wait for swans? Or should we just focus on filling the swan tags then start worrying about ducks? If i can use the duck decoys in with how much separation should I consider? I am going to be using 18 swan sillouette.

Swan hunt ended last weekend but the answer to your question is absolutely. You will shoot ducks in a spread with swans and swans will respond better to duck decoys if there are some swans mixed in. Welcome to the site AND the state!
