Seals are big and can easily outswim a dog. In many northern climes they are abundant. Are they aggressive? I have never heard of one attacking a dog, but a big male seal is impressive.

As a retired commercial diver and presently a sea duck guide... seals are not agressive towards dogs. The only time seals are agressive is in the spring during their mating season. The biggest thing to worry about here in Maine for the dogs while hunting would be the tide current. We have 12' tides and the current can run well over 5 knots. Other than that it's all good.
