I know for a fact that deer are sensitive to UV brightners e.g house hold washing powders ect. Are ducks the same? I've tried finding information on it but its all deer, deer, deer!

A kiwi in need

I don't think we really know what birds see, and what attracts them. I am cautious and don't usually use laundry detergent on my camos. Instead, I normally put a cup of vinegar in the wash cycle. It seems to get them clean without fading, and they come out smelling of nothing at all.

Being at the bottom of the food chain, I am dead certain ducks are sensitive to movement more than anything else. That is why movement in the decoys is so powerful, and movement in the blind is so fatal.

How many of us have been working on the duck set up the day before the season begins, while wearing blue jeans and (pick your favorite team) sweatshirt, emblazed with color when we hear wings above us, stand perfectly still, and watch them land near by.
