This is from last year, but I thought some of you might get a kick out of it. The wad ended up in this Greenwing hen. This is the second time this has happened to me. The other was from a few years back on a drake Greenwing. No, it wasn't close. Maybe 20-25 yards.

I have had it happen a few times while hunting Doves in Mexico . I believe the wad still had some shot
embedded in it at the time ! I also was shooting some Winchester steel loads (cheap ones) that a friend
had given to me in 20 ga . Same picture with my bird , but , the wad blew the birds wing and part of its
breast off , that 25 yd shot was surprising but I did find the wad not far from the blown off wing ! It had
5 steel pellets still in it !
