Silly question here. I have always used neoprene waders (usually whatever i could find cheapest cause i hunt in a cold area and abuse my gear and hope to get maybe 2 seasons out of them), but decided to make the jump to nice breathable ones because drake was having a sale on the old max5 pattern.

Tried them out today and the boots fit great, but the damn things go right up to my armpits. I am 5'10" and 180, so I got the regular size.

Anyone who has experience with breathable waders - is this way too tall?

My breathable waders: Cabelas, Simms, and Frogg toggs all hit about armpit. Straight line across that is just a inch or so past the tip of my pectorals. Assume you have adjustable shoulder straps? I worry more about inseam/crotch than wader height. I typically drop the strap on my shooting shoulder anyway.

I recently ordered the Drake breathables in size ten regular and could have easily fit two of myself in them. They fit more like a sleeping bag then waders. I am 5'10" and 160. They certainly dont make waders for slim guys.

Thanks for all the replies. Also an update on the Drake waders: DO NOT GET THEM.

Had the pocket zipper break the first time I used them (wasnt being rough). To make it worse, Drake customer service is being super difficult - dont have any in stock, so theyre response was to "use them this season because they're not leaking and then try to get it fixed at the end of the season" or "return it and in 3-4 weeks we will inspect it and see if you're eligible for a refund."

I understand the use it if theyre not leaking a little, but come on - these were $500 waders! horrible customer service.

To put a bow on this saga for me, I wound up ordering some Cabelas 4Most dry plus waders and they fit much better that the Drakes did. They have been very comfortable through the first couple hunts of the season.
