I'm looking for a cheap choke for an 870. I normally shoot 2's or 4's and I really don't want to spend a whole lot of money. :help:

What's chokes in it now? You shooting steel? Use standard IC & Mod with steel in my O/U and do well. A regular full is usually not recomended. Whatever patterns best is the right choice.

its got the regular mod in it now, but i would like to try a full. i would really like to use the pattern master but they cost a bit to much. the mod choke just does not seem to work as well as I would like it to.

Problem might not be the choke, it may be the load you're using. Really amazing how much difference another brand will shoot despite having virtually identical load numbers on the box. May be cheaper to try other loads.

I went from using dry locks to kent fast steel. I guess I'm just looking for an extra 10 yards or so.

For a cheap long range choke with that gun i would buy a briley extended IM non ported choke. Throws a damn tight pattern.

When I used my 870, I just bought a factory full (for steel).

I've found that Roy Rodges Open Water shoots Fast Steel very very well. Anything from 4 shot to BBB's. I get great patterns with this cheap choke. It out shoots my Pattern Master in every shell. But my go to choke late in the year is a Terror .675. Damn that puts meat on the table. :thumbsup:
See if you can find someone with a choke you can borrow and test.
