i like the rsi 1 3/8oz load for the 10ga hotrodded up to 1650fps... ive tried a bunch... this is a good one.

i also like to use a steel load i came up with for 1 1/4oz at 1525 using an sp10 wad and a wrap... i make my own wraps from sheet hard plastic. cheap cheap. a box of these 10ga shells are about the same as 2 3/4" 12ga steel to reload

I shoot mostly 7/8 oz Lightning Steel loads, using steel 6, 4, 3, 2, 1, and B's at 1724 fps. I do not have any problem in killing lessers with this load out to 50 yds with B's. Over the goose decoys steel 2's and 1's work fine. The problem with this load is you run out of pattern density before running out of distance. I also like 1 oz of 3's in Lightning Steel loads using Cheddite hulls and Primer. In 3 inchers my favorites are RSI 75 and 131 with the 2 3/4 NTC shotcup and steel BB's which runs 1640 fps. Also RSI 88 with steel 1's. Ned S

how on earth are you going to get 1 1/4 oz out a 3"12ga doin 1650fps?at best using alliant 381 (commercial grade alliant STEEL powder)
i can get 1475fps @5ft from muzzle on 37grain/cheddite/b+p multi metal wad through 835 and i would consider that a max load

I shot RSI 107 with 1 oz of 3's and 38 grs before RSI had the load. Alliant came out in '88 with this load with 41 grs of STEEL. I dropped it down to 38 grs and shot it until Winchester came out with Blue Boxed W209's. It ran 1650 fps. This load was hot and do not recommend it for anyone unless they are shooting a 3 1/2 inch gun. I also shot the same load with 30.5 grains of 4756 until STEEL became available. It ran 1550 fps. I don't recommend this load either. Ned S

You can't do it safely with multi metals, and I said 1 1/4 @ 1625, not 1650. Sadly sam1 wads wouldn't work well with your 835.

show me this 1 1/4oz 3" 12ga load doin 1625!!!
ned -3" sam 1s didnt cut the mustard for me in either new fiocchi or cheddite way to slack in hull must lose half a grain up the hull sidewall,
not your fav i no but when i sent a batch of max steel loaded 3.5"shells to kent factory for proof testing using sam1 3.5" wads /federal hull they gave much higher breach pressure/lower velocitys than same loads with b+p wad,so much so that ive sold the lot and dont use em any more.
i was sold on the hype with them also.
and considering the fact that 835/935 have 10ga barrels, and given the larger diameter gas seal of the sam 1 3.5 wad ,the results are completely contradictory to the bore of the gun.,it pickled my head for sure.

You'll be able to buy them next season. The CSD loads should work in your gun.

@Ned - I know the extra 1/4" might help seal it a bit, but if the 2 3/4" wads have that much of a problem I doubt the 3" would be very consistent. Probably moreso, but still poor.
