Has happened 3 times this year. Guys shoot ducks and cripple them. They sail 50 yards away and the lazy @$$es don't even go looking for them. Well, here I come walking out of the marsh with my limit and I stumble across someone's cripple. I hate for the poor thing to suffer, but I can't afford to pay the fine for being one over the limit. What do ya do?

Call DNR on your cell phone and report it. If their doing it while your around they most likely do it all the time. They will look for catching them if you have wanton waste laws on the books. I personally would have wrung it and came back for it later, as I could not have stood to watch it go to waste.

As a game warden and a duck hunter, I can tell you that a phone call would be appreciated.....I cant speak for all wardens obviously, but like you wasting a resource is the worst thing that can be done....If I get a call..I would have told you pick the bird up....I also would have been watching these guys and making a deserved case of no effort to retrieve or wanton waste.....keep up the good work,,,

I would have called DNR as well. I have brought my vidoe camera on many occassion to capture our hunts and it has been a good tool for watching idiots like these and reporting them. The zoom technology is an amazing thing gets people and boat numbers real well.

This has happened multiple times in one of the places where I hunt. I have gotten into the habit of shooting all but 1 of my limit, that way if I do find a cripple (which happens almost every time) i can take it into my bag without being over limit. I dont need a full limit anyway beings that I am the only one that eats them :)
