Well I finally bought some hotbuy decoys last night for $19.95 a dozen. My question is, what decoy weights do you use? Usually I use lead straps and wrap them around the necks, but these little guys have no necks. Should I use no tangle cord and slip weights so the weights just rest on the bottom of the decoy? If I use a strap of some kind will the paint flake off these?

I just bought a dozen of these because I was hoping the detail would help finish some of these decoy shy birds..

Thanks,

Mike

We use the strap weights that are wrapped around the keel. It should have a sort of triangular shaped keel if it is an 04 model. They shaped it that way so the strap weights would fit on it.

I use the hotbuy mallard decoys also! good choice. :salude: I like the Ace brand decoy ancors because they stay on your keel nice and taut. Therfore there is less damage to the other decoys.

Hope this helps,
