This has got to be the worst season we have ever had, I know the weather makes a difference, but MAN :censored: , I myself have only killed one duck, and between 3 of us we have shot 7, Not a good year at all, No geese either, We are finally starting to see some geese, but not what we normally see this time of year!! Does the weather really make that big of difference? I hear the migration is on in Ill. in high numbers, why isn't there any around here?

You have not had your worst season yet . In years to come you will have seasons that make this one look good .

Weather makes all the difference in the the world . It's what forces birds to move .

Next year when the flight forecast comes out and the powers that be say it's going to be another near record fall flight remember this year . Every year cannot be a near record flight with 60/6 seasons . But long seasons and high limits are what sells lic. and stamps . In the end money will win out .

Ontario isn't even froze up yet. All of our birds come off of the big lakes (Michigan/Erie) they are froze up. There is nothing to blame for a terrible season besides weather. The only reason we get pushes of birds is because of the quick cold fronts and stiff winds (regardless of direction). Yes birds will migrate in a south wind it all comes down to the temperature at this point north of us.

Yes without colder weather we will not get a decent push of birds. Weather makes all the difference in the world. Just like all of the potholes and small ponds were froze this weekend and I smoked em on the river. Got to go where the birds are not where you want them to be.

FINALLY started seeing some birds, but not really wanting to work very well, most that we have seen are high flyers, got a few to come in but landed out 60-70 yards from the decs, managed to get 1 mallard, and 3 geese, should have been 5 geese, but 2 of them we hit kept going, feathers flying off of them, watched them fly out of site, must not have been hit good enough, but we still had fun. Headed back out Christmas day in the morning, then calling for thunderstorms Saturday, and 90% chance of rain Sunday :censored: , so looks like we have just 1 more day to kill some ducks, I don't hunt in thunderstorms, not sure about the rest of you.
