I need your guys opinion on shotgun shells. I am getting ready to order a couple of cases of shotgun shells for duck season. I like shooting 3" Kent #4s and #2s. Should I get the 1 1/4 or 1 1/8 oz shot? I know the 1 1/8 is faster. I shoot a Brileys Improved modified choke and both shells pattern about the same.

i think speed is the key to steel, the faster the better.
Guage shell length velocity weight shot size
12 3 1425 1 1/4 oz. 2

12 3 1560 1 1/8 oz. 2

I do agree, speed is the Key...... But 135 fps isnt going to make the world of difference.....

Just my $.03,

If I bought shells, I would try to stay between 1450-1600fps. Think either of these shells would be great in the field.

I think if most of your shots was 25yd or closer, I would get the 1 1/8oz #4's, and if your shots were a little farther than 25yd then I would get the 1 1/4oz #4's giving you more pellets in the pattern at the farther distance. #4 will kill the birds if you are hitting them with the pattern. the 1 1/4oz will require just a little more lead, maybe 4"-6". cooter
