The boat I'm restoring has the old wooden transom. It is new marine plywood. The motor I'm putting on it weights around 130 pounds. Will the transom hold up to constant weight of the motor? If not what should I do besides buying a lighter motor?

Thanks guys

A little clarification please. Is the old transom made of original wood or has it been replaced by new marine plywood?Kind of confusing the it was stated in your post.If its new marine ply and it was installed right then i would suggest you look at the rated engine size for the boat and use it to determine the motor limitations.
If you aren't sure of the transom strength, get a professional opinion from a marina or someone that knows boats and can take a look at it.
