I've had quite a few calls made by Rnt. They do a good job of trying to a quality call out of the wood that you send them. I'm like Byers they're currently working on a sb in black wood for me. Another thing to keep in mind here when sending them wood to work is making sure its good quality wood. They don't guarantee anything with the wood you send them until it's finished. It's hard to come across good quality bois (hedge) wood. Usually they charge the normal price of the call as if it was new. Hope this sheds some light on it. There's some people out there that you can find quality hedge from but it will take some searching. The best hedge usually comes from old fence post in the mid west and some times you can run across it on eBay. It takes a 2x2x10 blank to complete a barrel and insert or a 2x2x5 to make a barrel or insert. Good luck in your search a burnt hedge sb is getting like the "old school" daisy cutters to find. And since quality hedge wood is getting harder to find the price is going up on them too. I have a couple hedge sb's that I use.

This is what your looking for, keep in mind there's a lot of color variations in hedge also.
That is exactly what i am looking for, and damn you have a hell of a collection, how often do you use all of those? I would imagine that you would only use 4 or 5 go on a regular basis.

nerdwick, I usually use 3 when I hunt, I have different calls setup for different sounds and different areas I hunt. We hunt a lot of different areas from flooded timber, lakes and rivers to fields. Fortunately, with all the different areas most of my calls get used. I only have 2 shelf queens that I don't have pics of because they are in my gun safe at my parents house. They are old wood stickered Rich-N-Tones that my grandfather used. Even what everyone is referring to as the old school daisy cutter gets used, its one of my favorite calls. But to answer your question most of my calls get used depending on where we hunt. I have a call that stays on my lanyard for timber hunting or short range work that actually isn't a RNT and I'm not sure if anyone has actually ever seen one since it was a local company and they went under a few years back, I will try to get a pic posted of it to see if anyone has ever heard or seen one. Thanks.

hey nerdwick,

There is a bois d'arc sb on the refuge right now for sale, looks like the asking price is $120, looks brand new from the pic but you never know. Thought I would just give you a heads up, he has two of them from what I am understanding in his post.
