Either will do the job....in both cases.
Cost will probably be the determining factor....in both cases.

 

500 denier cordura for $1.79 a yard. It's grade 2 (problems, misprints, ect) but your covering it with grass!

Rip stop will just not handle the abuse that Cordura will. We all know we beat out hunting stuff rough most times.

Yeah I second Magnafabriks but get the 1000D in Coyote brown for about $2.50-$3.50 a yard. $100 bought me enough for a 16 and a 17 ft boat blind.

 

I bought the 1000 and its nice but can be a bitch to sew! Double over seams and when you get 4 layers at the corners needle break. 500 is plenty tough and easier to sew. Now if you are not sewing and just cutting and zip tying it, you can heat a skewer and just burn holes that will not unravel and just zip tie the fabric to your frame. Then 1000 will work fine and be tougher, but I think 500 will still be plenty tough. Layout blinds are usually 1000 on the bottom and 500 on the sides for you to compare.

 

We usese the 1000 condura on our bech seats on our boats for the covering on the bench/stogage seats, and this stuff is strong, we could use the 500 but is is not as strong, use the 1000 stuff. Thanks, Midwest Duck Blinds
