Ok guys so I modified my mud buddy fast grass last year with an extra conduit support bars on either side and a little extension so that I can get more of a roof for my blind. I re grassed it with heavy duty 20' camo nets and a ton of raffia. This yea I want to some kind of wind blocker plus I will be completely rebuilding the frame. I see a lot of guys using cordura. It looks great however I have an excel 1964 F4 which is a big boat. I was wondering about ripstop. That is what our old BDU's were made out of when I first joined the army. Any guys use this stuff. And also I see everyone using plastic bimini hardware why not the stainless for a longer last.

I bought the 1000 and its nice but can be a bitch to sew! Double over seams and when you get 4 layers at the corners needle break. 500 is plenty tough and easier to sew. Now if you are not sewing and just cutting and zip tying it, you can heat a skewer and just burn holes that will not unravel and just zip tie the fabric to your frame. Then 1000 will work fine and be tougher, but I think 500 will still be plenty tough. Layout blinds are usually 1000 on the bottom and 500 on the sides for you to compare.
