Rules.......
1. Once you leave the room with the switces, the door will automatically close and will lock permanently. You cannot get back in.

2. There is no way to see from any room into the other. No video equpiment, no majic glasses, no two way mirros.....

3. You can have no help from anyone else.

4. Nothing else should be implied, there is no trick wording in this riddle.

hmm. you can turn on 1 switch and leave it on for lets say 1 hour. then turn it off and turn another switch on. go to the room with the lights and 2 bulbs should be off with 1 on. 1 of the bulbs will be hot and the other one cold. the hot one corresponds with the first switch, the cold one with the switch not used, and the one that is turned on goes with the second switch that you turned on.

that right?

ya im pretty sure it doesnt break any rules, but it doesnt seem to be the kind of answer that these riddles want. it would definately work though! so boom what is the real answer????

i thought of another way to do it, but you need to use a voltmeter and pull out some wires from the switch and take measurements on the bulbs.

ok... here's a tough one.... I'll allow you to ask as many "yes/no" questions as you need.... since it is tough and the answer isn't very obvious.

Mike is sitting in his office reading the newspaper.... In the newspaper there was an article about a local couple that went on a skiing trip. Tragedy struck when the woman had a terrible skiing accident and was killed. The death was ruled an accident, but Mike knew right away that it was no accident and that her husband had intentionally killed her........ How did he know????? And I'll save you all a quick question.... No the husband didn't tell Mike that he was going to kill her.

was mike a detective or police officer investigating the case? or how about the wording? if someone is killed, it implies that something killed them, but if it were an accident i would think that they just died. wait that wouldnt explain it to be the husband though. ok so my above question then...

Mike knew because he works at the hotel where they were staying and the husband made some plans that didn't include the wife before the accident.
You are almost there!!!!! But Mike does not work at the hotel, in fact he works 1000 miles away from the Ski Resort

Yatzee!!!!!......

I'll give credit to both shrp and Wooderson for the answer. Good job guys

So long as you didn't google it, I'll give credit in that was by far the fastest anyone has ever answered it (I did get a PM from an unnamed asssailant with the correct answer yesterday, but they admitted to googling it)
