I am looking into putting a Star Link system in my camper. Any thoughts or better options ? There are not any strong cell tower signals where I will be hunting so I'm thinking star link might be a good choice.

Let us know what you find. I envision a cluster I'm afraid so good idea asking around. I'm always surprised at how chitty cell service is in areas that say the signal strength is "great" or "strong" yet you can't get a good signal unless you're standing on the roof with your left foot out and your right arm crooked while facing the north star.

My 1st qualification would be customer service. If there isn't a phone number you can call and get a live person to talk to for support, I'd run. But then again, if it's a service issue onsite it doesn't help much if you can't get good enough to use a phone.

Customer service with live support from someone who speaks an understandable dialect. An American accent is always helpful but getting as common as a banded Wilsons snipe. I'll definitely check that out. Thanks

Star Link is generally a good choice if you have enough open sky to get a decent signal. I know they have some plans that are pretty cheap for intermittent use and things like that, I would check into it. It will be far better than pretty much any cell provider.

It's not like there should be much "interference" affecting a signal. Since I don't use a phone as a computer I can't speak to "download" speed advancements but given how chitty cell signals are it doesn't seem anything has improved at all regarding phone performance.

I did see a commercial the other day where the guy basically was saying relative to "speed"..."Let's face it, your phone is your computer anymore, it's not a phone".

I don't doubt that's how most people live. It's only because people are chimps and so phone addicted they cannot live without it's crutch of "connection" 24x7x365. I get perturbed when I hear these new studies about how the cell phone, internet and social media are so dangerous for the human mind. I saw that coming a decade ago and I'm not even a conspiracy guy.
