Which color of a lab is best to blend in with its surroundings?

I think it would have to be brown, its a very natural color.

depends on what you hunt.... marshes corn fields probably a yellow

I really dont know where a black blends in well... Worked fields.. Timber.. maybe Dark dogs harder to hide

It just simply doesn't make any difference what color your lab is. Ever hear of duck tolling retrievers? They parade around the marsh or blind and actually attract waterfowl.

So what you're saying is the even the non-lab breeds that are yellow-ish get the job done best, right?

Not sure if anyone else is experiencing the recent fad of very pale yellow/white dogs but if they were actually bred for the field they may be the perfect snow goose dog. Especially if you put Styrofoam wings on their sides and let them go.

I have met several tollers.

If I was going to only hunt from a lay out boat I would get one.

But since I need an all purpose deep water snow goose retriever, I will stick with Miss Brandy.

We had a very light yellow lab, only had a tad of yellow on his ears. We never really seemed to notice birds flare seeing him and most of the time he rolled gave himself a good camo job by rolling in the mud. When there was snow he blended right in. I do however think it would be easier to conceal a brown or darker yellow dog.

So its agreeded-

Brown is the best color
The data does not lie, the public has spoken and the argument has been finalized:

Tomkat - brown
rutin - brown
L&L - yella
Dogyak - black
willie - yella
boatman - black
tubbalowski - yella
18javelin - yella
rivercountry - yella
duckdon - brown
tinner - yella & brown
tinner - yella & brown (reds are technically yella)

SCORE CARD: Yella (7); Brown (5); Black (2)
