How much can you afford for brushing? If you can afford $60 then this is the way I do it and have for years to cover my 13.6' 4 Rivers for marsh hunting. Nice boat by the way.
I buy a 4 pack of marsh grass. Fast Grass is the best but also cost more. I have used Tanglefree grass for two years now and it is holding up real well.
Grass: $39.99 is a usual price on sale about anywhere that handles it.
Pack of cheap black zip ties. $5
Bamboo garden stakes or find some bamboo somewhere that can be legally cut (friends house, etc) and cut and dry it.Look hard and it will be free.
Black Bungee cord. Army surplus store: $10-15 bucks to do your boat.
Cheap can of Black Rattle can paint.
Stretch the bungee on the bow following the contour of your bow like a triangle shape. I sheet of grass with the tips forward tucked under the bungee hanging slightly over the nose and to the base of the cocpit. Trim the grass around edges so it will drop over the sides to hide the boat shadow. Do not zip tie it down. All grass will be removed for transport.
Now lay two sheets upside down longways. Zip tie them together (not to tight on the ties). lay this piece over your cocpit from front to rear to check length. Trim as needed from the front. Now, turn over the grass of flat ground and zip tie your bamboo crossways long enough to span your cocpit by about 3" on both sides.
Rear and overhead. Bungee up the rear deck like you did the front. Cut a sheet of grass as you did the front for the rear deck. Use the extra pieces you cut off the front and rear pieces to add in where needed and zip tie in some overhead cover from the rear grass and maybe some face and shoulder cover for the cocpit grass. If you have some extra long bamboo you can stick em in the mud just behind your shoulders to hold up the grass over your head and you are seriously hidden.
I lay it all out once set like I want it and it is comfortable laying out and then rattle can it with some black over spray to add some depth if you want or just age the grass wet for a month.
To transport: With the grass on your boat setup to hunt I take the nose piece and lay it on the cocpit grass, then do the same with the rear grass. Roll up the grass from rear to front, run a bungee around it and lay it under a decoy bag on the floor of the boat when hauling or motoring.
For the motor I bundle up natural vegetation and zip tie it together and store it in a mesh bag as stated earlier. We have been doing this on boats for years and it hides unreal. Bulkier that doors and other setups but if you weave a little natural vegetation in from the area you are hunting things work out well.
Just my ideas that work well. To me transport is one thing but hiding WELL is the key to killin em good and not educating them for the next group of hunters to deal with.
Shoot me a PM if you want more info or like the idea at all,, Rock
PS: My Grass is going on it's third season and should get at least 4 yrs out of it and maybe five. Everytime I find Raffia grass cheap like at Walmart or craft stores I weave in a little extra to add depth.
