Thought of naming my next pup Mojo (you know, the spinning wing decoy...), but it sounds to close to "No". Not good to have a dog name that sounds close to the word "No" so I think Ill just call him "flapper"....

Right Willie!-
Sometimes when fustrated I find myself using the expletive, $%#! instead of saying manure, poop, etc., and the dog knows the difference ..he just kinda' subtlely leaves the area 'till I'm done with the drama

My first dog in college was named Lady, she would also respond to B****, Trick, and Trick B****. The looks on people's faces when I would yell hey B**** come here was absolutely classic. Best dog I have ever had, she would do anything. Unfortunately, her life was way too short.

Our lab Buck would come to Buck, Whiskey or Whiskey Throttle. As far as Mojo and No being too similar... I would think a dog could tell the difference, just because Mojo is two syllables and No is one. The sound would be different.. if that makes sense. Just my opinion. You also could use a different way to say no if you really want the name mojo... for example nein which is "no" in german.

I was taught to use "hold" to avoid confusion with "no," but a bazillion or so pointing dogs have learned to stand still on the command "whoa".

That, said, maybe you should name the pup "JJ" in hope he'll take to hunting the marsh like Jelher Jr.
