Right now online at Scheels you can get Avery real grass for $49. That is 4 sheets of 4'x5". So that would mean you could cover one side of a 16' boat and the grass would be 5' tall. You would need two of these to cover a 16' boat making your overall investment $100 + whatever shipping is. Now let's look at this thatch stuff. It's 30" (2.5 feet) by 57'. Seems like a lot but when you factor in that the height is 1/2 of what you get with the Avery's it really doesn't add up. So again with some math. To cover a16' boat on one side to the same degree as Averys, you would have to use two strips of 16' feet, one on top of the other making it 32' of materal. So to cover both sides you would need a total of 64' which you don't Even have in the roll. Also, Avery real grass can be cut to without it unravelling. So I think that when all is said and done, it might actually be cheaper and less of a headache to use the Avery's. ( note: the math in this is all hypothetical and actual coverage would vary by give or take 10')
