How about "sickem". . .

:fingerhead:

Bro, get your dog and go from there - we called my pup "little bit" for most of a season because I couldn't name her until "I COULD NAME HER". . .it went from "little bit" to "little bitch" (when at 1 yr old she kicked a 3 yr old golden's arse for getting into her kennel) NOT FUNNY - but true. . . and still that's not the name we ended up with.

MY POINT - why ask us what to name a PUP that you AIN'T got yet?

It's better to consider what your future bride's name is going to be. . . But Please - don't call her "little bitch" until you've made 8 years of marriage. . .

Naming a dog that is going to be with you for the next 10 years or longer is like naming a child, the name has to have some meaning behind it or some relevance to the dog, there is no point in naming it trigger, and then you get it, it lays around all day and does nothing. My point is, it is best to let the name find itself.

"Rockit"...
And no that is not spelled wrong....you know, a dog you gotta hunt with a pocket full of rock so you can "Rock it" to the bird...
:lol3: :lol3:

No shortage of opportunity there Inda.
That's a subtle joke my mentor uses...

mentor- "You shoulda named that dog Rockit..with an i instead of an e"
owner- "Why? Cause he has lots of energy and takes off like a rocket!!?"
mentor- "Yep, if you say so..."

Know a fellow who names his own Labs Rock for just that reason: never had one that wasn't handled by rock.

Coincidentally, a couple fellows who rent a blind from us had complained that it was in the wrong location (because birds lit a couple hundred yards over when they hunted), and I made a pass by it a couple days ago to see if there might be anything to their observation before talking the big cheese out of a wrong move. Having spent a lot of time on that piece, I wasn't surprised to find the blind pretty much literally covered up in ducks or the renters' suggested location barren by comparison.

Nor, when I looked in the blind, was I surprised to find this:

(Know the pro who's work has come undone at that blind and took the photo as ammunition to chunk at him.)

A one or two syllable name is best and don't name a dog with a name that is close to a command that you would give him. For example naming a dog Kit and then giving the dog the command Sit might get confusing to the dog.

Make sure it's a name you wouldn't mind yelling in front of a bunch of duck hunters. You will get some looks if you yell "FooFoo get your *** over here!"
And give Mom due consideration. I frequently find myself using the pet name "Booger," but Sweet Chereaux has vetoed actually naming one that on the grounds that she'll not have a booger on her couch.

bottle rockets are the best for getting the ducks up
agreed-but you will get a ticket from a Game warden for harassment if you get caught using 'em....At least in louisiana-I know someone that was issued a citation for it...
