I'm in the military stationed near starke fl at camp blanding. I just got a new shotgun and I'm looking for a place to duck hunt, but all the public land seems to require a quota permit. If anybody can help me out, or has any ideas I would appreciate it.

I would suggest doing some scouting for hunting spots. Put in some time knocking on doors, checking our maps, and driving around with binos. I just joined the site recently, and I couldn't even find locals willing to work with me or teach me until I hand land secured and places to hunt.

I found out very quickly that in this sport, you need to put in the time finding hunting spots and have something to offer back if you expect others to help

Look up Lake George , about 1 hour south of you . If you have no boat , you can hunt from the bank . You will of course need waders , you can wade pretty far out from the bank with a lot of natural cover out in the lake . Get some decoys , use only coots and ringers , maybe 6 coots and 2 to 3 ringers (no Mallards) . Don't use a call . Good luck soldier !
Oh , there is gators
