I am assuming that you bought a call with an acrylic or poly tone board. Honestly, all calls WILL stick. But acyrilic ones are the worst about it, poly second and lastly wood.

First try to practice minimizing the amount of saliva that you put into the call. PRACTICE is all I can say about that one.

Secondly, the reason a reed sticks is due to moisture and the amount of contact between the reed and the tone board. This is caused by your hot air being blown into a call that is colder than that air, which causes condensation. To help MINIMIZE this, try keeping the call in your pocket, or keep them inside the upper area of your jacket by unzipping it a little.

Lastly, if this is a high end call you may want to send it back to the mfg and have the tone board worked to make sure something hasn`t warped or that the area that the reed and tone board touch is properly adjusted.

Hope this helps

All of my Foiles calls stick. I've sanded the toneboards and tried everything, including Rain X. The only time they stick is when I get them out in decently cold weather. I've even blown the hell outta them in the house and then put them in the fridge for 30 minutes, and they won't stick. However, every time I hunt them, they always stick after the first series. Only calls I've ever had trouble with.

Reed curl helps. I like a reed with some good curl memory in it in my hunting calls. It can be the differance between a call stuck completely where you can not break it loose with out a mega pressure squeal and it being able to open up with a simple cluck or two. Make sure it is smiling on the tone board no one likes an unhappy reed. Like a bowl not like a lid.
