Hello all. I recently had a big leak develop in my columbia waders. That were tall.

I patched them but am wanting a new pair with more insulation in the boot. My problem is I'm 6 foot 5 and 275. I bought a pair of swamp tuff last year king size but apparently a king is about 4 inches shorter than me as I couldn't kneel squat or walk comfortably. Cabelas is currently back ordering the only pair they have in tall and I need them before jan 3. Anyone have suggestions for us tall people? I need a 36 inch inseam and everything is 30-34 that I can find. Breathable or neoprene I'm open to all. HELP PLEASE!

I'm 6'4 and have a 36" inseam. I ripped out the crotch on a pair of tall Cabelas neoprene waders and the knees on a pair of Caddis waders. Ended up getting a pair of USIA waders this past summer and got the legs made extra long. Pretty expensive but they are made well and don't restrict my movement. I'm happy with them and a good fit is worth the price to me.

I'm 6'2" and the Cabela's tall neoprenes fit the bill for me. Otherwise, I'm ripping/stretching/tearing knees and crotches. What about borrowing a pair from someone in your local area until the backorder is filled? Also, you might be able to fix the leak in your Columbias with AquaSeal. We've had good luck with that.

Which model are you speaking of ?
I know they have a 3mm set in tall, but no 5mm, those 3mm don't come with brush tuff reinforcement and require boots...right?
3mm waders would not last a week where/how we hunt.

Hodgman Dura Mag 1200 in tall for me were the perfect wader, but like is always the case once Pure Fishing (Berkley) bought them they streamlined which eliminated all tall waders...SUCKS!!!!!

Hi Blackfoot-
I agree - Cabelas has slowly been shrinking their tall wader selections. I'm on a pair of 5mm talls that have been going for 7 or 8 years, mucho AquaSeal required. Other than that, I saw a pair of 3mm talls go on sale (brown, not camo) for around $85 a few years back so I went ahead and ordered them as a backup pair. To my dismay I didn't read the entire description because when I opened the box they had a felt sole (fishing) instead of a lug sole. Oh well. I've used them a few times and despite the felt sole, they work fine. Felt sole with a steel shank is passable. I prefer 5mm but the 3mm will work here in KS. To be honest, I haven't even looked at what Cabelas currently offers in tall because I'm pretty set on waders now...

I'm 6' 8" 240 with a 38" inseam and in the last 25 years I have tried on more waders than I care to count. I found that Cabela's Super Mags in regular sizes fit better than the Cabela's tall neoprene's. I think it's because they stretch a little more. Probably a bit heavy for someone south of the Minnesota border. It sucks but I just plan on purchasing a new pair every 2 years because of the crotch issue. I also read on this forum about a dry suit company that makes custom waders with an awesome warranty. If I remember right they were a bit spendy, but I think I might go that route the next time.

I am 6'2" 230 I have a set of Macks Grand Prairie in tall and they are great. Plenty of room and stretch. Very tough waders too. when Istand they roll just a bit over the boot which gives plenty of room to take long steps or kneel. Also, they come up to just under the armpit on me which means I can wade out to about 4'6" deep water and stay dry.

I'm 6 5 275 myself I used to wear dry pluse for many years inseam to short always got leaks . Now I wear orvis waterfowler sonic seam wader they are boot foot wader . Best thing Iv ever bought . They have a lace up boot so they stay on your foot in the goo and they are the most comfortable wader Iv ever worn . They have a felt liner you slide on your foot then put wader on makes them nice and toasty but the best part it's like hiking with a pair of boots instead of a sloppy boot that you slide around in . With a vibram sole
