I made the mistake of buying one of these guns. Operative word being "mistake". Was defective right out of the box and their customer service / gunsmith was an unhelpful, rude and condescending individual.
Remember folks. Retay is nothing more than another Turkish manufacture and their collective reputation is well earned.
I am curious, what was the defect? What model do you have? Who did you talk to at Retay who was not helpful? Please give us the whole story. Thanks

It’s amusing watching the various YouTube carnival barking guided Duck shooters schill for outfits like Retay. Notice I said guided Duck shooters not Duck hunters.

Stick with a known quantity. Benelli, Beretta, Browning, Winchester, Remington 870’s and Mossberg Pumps.

I noticed the seasons following after the first season they all got them, not a one still shoots them or mentions them AT ALL! They've all went back to the "B" guns. That tells me all I need to know, when the money/ deal for the gun ran out so did any sort of positive lip service.
I would like to know who on youtube was shooting them and know aren't?

I have shot a MM the last 3 seasons and can give you an honest review. It is funny on facebook how many people trash them . Then you ask and it was my uncles neighbors cousin that had one. The trasher has never even seen one or shot one. The more you ask the more you find out the trashers don't know much about shotguns. One guy said that something kept unscrewing and I told him that is strange it is soldered on. He pmed me saying he was making up stuff because he hates turkish guys.

My honest review. I have had no issues with jamming. These guns need to be broken in. I box of 3 inch shells is a good start. If you buy it and thrown in 1 oz trap loads, you will have issues with a 3.5 inch gun. Dont shoot anything under 1 1/8 oz. I oil my sparingly with synthetic mobile 1 motor oil. Learned this trick from the owner of Boss shot shells

All 5 chokes pattern great, my mod choke loosens after a couple boxes. I put a little teflon tape on threads to fix that. My only real negative thing.

Mine is cerokoated and bullet proof. It is a little heavy at 7 pounds 7 ounces. I guess that is why the recoil is very light. I dont shoot alot of 3.5 shells but they are very managable. For an interia gun very light recoil. I love the locking interia bolt. You can not get the benelli click. I have heard that benelli has offered retay millions to get their patent on the locking interia system. Seems funny if benellis are so superior.

Very easy to clean, trigger group removal is easy no pounding out pins. One thing I really love is you can take out the plug in 10 seconds. I mountain grouse hunt a ton and I take out the plug to hold more shells if I encounter a grizzly bear. My SX3 winchester is terrible to get plug out. A spring shoots out, you need to pry plastic clips. No fun and terrible design.

Two years ago I was savagely attacked by a moose while duck hunting. I was holding my shotgun like a pistol backing up poking it in the face. It was trying to kick me with its front legs and once hit my shotgun. I often wondered if it was a benelli if it would have been enough to come out of battery. If so I probably would not be writing this. As you can see in the picture my Retay saved my life. My friend is a gunsmith and he says they are a great shotgun, and I value his opinion. Briley of briley chokes use to do all of retays warranty work, I heard they got very few back for repairs.

The issue I've found with these types of brands is the inconsistency of quality. Yours might be awesome, doesn't mean the next guys is. Happens less with many other manufacturers. But I shoot an O/U mostly since semi's and 3 rounds aren't that important to me and they always go boom-boom. Easy to be partial to one that saved you from getting taken out by a Moose though. 😅

Exactly some people get 300,000 miles out of a car, another person same car engine blows up at 30,000 miles. I am just giving my honest review. I am just tired of guys who call them Turkish junk that have never even seen one. Me no issues after 3 years.

Three years is not a long time but I am glad you have had good luck. I grew up with a Browning Auto-5 standard 16 gauge Dad got for his wedding gift in 1957. It never jammed. One carnival barker that comes to mind is a man whose name rhymes with slobby pie. Keep us apprised. Hoping it gives the same service to you as that old Auto-5 did for us.

While looking into cutdown calls, I fell down youtube's flooded timber rabbit hole and am virtually certain 3D Productions was an example of brief association and even aired instances of a group member fighting with a Retay-decaled gun.

Didn't know it would be on the quizz, didn't book-mark it, and ain't goin' back down that path. Might have been op-error for all I know. Just recall thinking it strange they'd do so with a sponsor's gun.

@2point I took down those videos I posted. I am glad you are getting good service out of your Retay. We have enough people gunning after us, no pun intended, as it is. With the anti-2A lunatics, Communists and anti-hunters breathing down our necks at every turn, we need to be unified. My quibbles over the brand of a shotgun don’t help matters.

Understood.
But, if a class of shotgun (in this case, Turkish Retays) has consistently poor reliability, then they should probably, and rightfully, be called junk.

From my experience, most Turkich autoloaders are typically beautiful guns with disappointing reliability.

I was just curious what type of shell you shot that moose with...did you shoot it with steel shot?
