I have a 835 3in pump mossberg shotgun that jams everytime I clean it everytime and oil it up with n1 gun oil and sometimes wd40. It also sometimes jams the empty caseing in the barrel? My dads 935 is starting to do the same thing. Please help or if you have had the same problem and also how to fix this thankyou all for your time.

TAKE all the non metal parts off the gun. Then soak all metal parts in mineral spirit over night. Then rinse an scub in hot soap water. Then clean each pieces with qtips . Then assemble gun and make shuts u only hand tighten the plug tube and barrel on. This works for me everytime an if you have to only use dry oil for lube. Do not use wd40. ;-) :welcome:

I have an older 500, and was experiencing the spent shell not ejecting. The extractor on the bolt would pull the spent shell from the barrel, but it would not completely disengage from the bolt and fly out. In the mean time, the first shell would eject from the magazine into the receiver, and a jammed mess would result. I finally found the corner of the ejector had either worn or broken off to the point that by the time the brass contacted the ejector, the bolt was pretty much all the way back, which caused the spent shell to just begin to be released from the bolt and extractor, without completely disengaging. About $8.00 and a new ejector later, it is good as new.

From what I can see, it looks like the ejector on the 835 is similar in design to the 500's ejector, although not exactly the same, and I am guessing it is broken or worn.

There are a few factors that could contribute to your jamming problem. Usually, the first thing I question when a gun is jamming is the kind of ammo you are using. From my experience the Mossberg guns do not cycle Federal Black Cloud ammo well because the crimps seem to open up very wide. If your problem persists with all types of ammo, then something is definitely wrong with the gun. A gun that doesnt eject probably means that your ejector is worn or broken.

Please don't use WD40 in the action. Some guys swear by WD40 but in most cases I swear at it. It does a fine job of displacing water which is what it was designed for but it tends to get gummy after a while.

I have a co-worker that loves to use it on padlocks. by the time cold weather sets in you can hardly turn a key in the lock or even get it in. I usually have to hose it down with brake cleaner so it will work properly again.

Years ago I had problems with federals in my wingmaster. At the time the fired shells were about 1/6" longer than any other shell. Most would not clear the ejection port unless I violently cycled the gun, but some would also stick in the chamber.
If you have a chamber on the short side of spec and a shell on the long side this could also be the problem. It's possible that since so many guns now have 3 1/2" chambers that federal may be pushing length specs to limit in their specialty loads.
