Use rem 209 data. DO NOT use them with ball powder, only large flake powder. Ball powder (or even small flake powder) can get into the flash hole of the primer and cause some problems.
It would be fine with red dot.
Rem or AA hull
1 1/8 lead shot
18 grains red dot
WAA12 wad
medium primer (fio616, ched209, win209, rem209)
1200fps, around 10,000psi.
Rem or AA hull
1oz of shot
17 grains red dot
WAA12SL, or WAA12L wad
medium primer
1150fps and around 8,000 psi.
Make sure you test 1 primer from each box to assure they are good before loading them, also any old powder you have.
To test a primer- put it in a hull, point the barrel away from you and fire. Only do it with a single shot or a break gun... it will leave LOTS of residue in your barrel. If it goes bang its good.
To test powder- Put a small bit in a pile on concrete (outdoors!) and drop a match on it. It will ignite if its good, it will sizzle if its bad. It wont go bang, dont worry. Just keep your head back.
